Overview

ReflectZen is designed as a private wellness and habit-coaching app. We collect the information needed to operate accounts, subscriptions, app features, customer support, analytics, and crash reporting.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, ReflectZen may process your email address, account identifier, subscription status, purchase information, habit titles, habit check-ins, reflections, settings, app usage events, diagnostics, and support messages.

Camera, TrueDepth API, and Facial Coach

Facial Coach uses Apple's TrueDepth API and on-device front camera to guide expression-based mood exercises. The following explains exactly how this data is handled:

• What we collect: ARKit blend-shape coefficients — numerical values (0.0–1.0) representing facial muscle movements — processed in real time during a session.
• Purpose: These values are used solely to classify expressions (e.g., "Duchenne Smile", "Calm Reset") and provide live biofeedback on-screen to guide the user's exercise.
• Storage: Only a high-level session summary (dominant expression type, session duration, and a quality score) is saved to your private account database to track your progress over time. No raw face data, face maps, photos, or video frames are ever stored.
• Sharing: Face data is never shared with any third party. All expression recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device ARKit framework.
• Retention: The TrueDepth camera stream and all ARKit blend-shape data are immediately discarded in memory when the session ends. Only the anonymised session summary (described above) is retained.
• Camera consent: Access to the camera is requested before the first Facial Coach session and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

Third-Party Services

ReflectZen may use trusted service providers for authentication, database storage, analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, and paywall presentation, including Firebase, RevenueCat, and Superwall. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy practices.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide app functionality, sync your account, manage subscriptions, restore purchases, improve reliability, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate product performance.

Data Retention

We retain account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request account deletion from within the app where available.

Children

ReflectZen is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
